The Internet Shop offers web
based email via a package called SquirrelMail. It runs on our server and
allows you to check your email from anywhere you can get your hands on a web
browser. Your mail is kept safely on our server, here in Oklahoma City.
This is a fully functional mail program.
Login Instructions: Clicking on the Login webmail link will take you to the SquirrelMail page.
You will be asked for your name and password. You will enter ONLY your email username. It is NOT your email address, so don't even bother typing it in that way! In other words, if your email address is bob@theshop.net, your email username would be just "bob". Your password is whatever you use to log in and check your mail with.
Click Login You will be taken to your mailbox on our mail server. You will see: INBOX INBOX Sent INBOX Drafts INBOX Trash Reading Messages: Click on the subject line of the message. Deleting messages: A check box is displayed to the left of each message. Click inside the box to "mark" that email for deletion. Click the Delete button. Only those messages "marked" will be deleted. To mark ALL messages on the page, click the Toggle button. This will "mark" all messages. Click the Delete button. Messages deleted are not totally deleted until you delete them from the Trash. Click on the Trash button. Toggle and click the Delete button. If you want deleted messages to bypass the Trash folder and immediately be deleted then follow these instructions: Click the Options button - top menu - Click Folder Options Click the down arrow on "Trash Folder" and select: [Do not use Trash] Click the Submit key at the bottom of the page. You will no longer have a Trash bin. When you delete messages they will automatically be deleted from our mail server. Important Issue concerning "domain" email addresses: If you use your domain name in your email address, as in: jane.doe@gumforless.com, and you use squirrelmail to send and receive email you MUST setup the "Reply to:" information in SquirrelMail. The reason for this is simple. When you compose an email using SquirrelMail your email address is automatically entered, your "Reply to:" is also automatically entered, if left blank in the Options portion of Personal Information. But, the recipient of your email will see the reply as jane.doe@theshop.net, not jane.doe@gumforless.com. If they reply to you, the message will probably bounce back to them with a "no such user" error. Our mail files are setup for this customer to only allow mail addressed to jane.doe@gumforless.com to be delivered, mail with a different address is rejected by our servers. Below this Example is instructions on setting up your Personal Information.
Login to SquirrelMail. Click on "Options" then "Personal Information." You must fill out the "Full Name", "Email Address" and "Reply to:", there are other options but these three must be filled out. Click on the Submit button and you are finished. NOTE:
User is responsible for their SquirrelMail mailbox. Delete
ALL unwanted mail from
INBOX and TRASH. If your mailbox becomes TOO FULL you will not be able to
view messages - your mailbox would have to be cleaned out by an Internet Shop
representative. After logging in you can learn more about the ability and functions of SquirrelMail by clicking on the Help link. |
