With the March, 2000, edition of the Faith and Victory, we begin our 78th year of publication. This milestone has been reached through the grace and provision of our Lord. To recall how faithfully God has supplied for the continuation of the work, and how needs have often been met through the faithfulness of His children, is a source of continual inspiration to us.
If you are not familiar with the history of Faith Publishing House, perhaps you would like to learn more about it by reading *God's Gracious Dealings, a book authored by Bro. Fred Pruitt, the founder of the work, and his son, Bro. Lawrence.
We feel that past blessings of the printing work can only be surpassed by future blessings. Psa. 119:103 says, "How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!" As long as this is the testimony of hungry souls, there will be a demand for the published Word.
Although my grandfather, Fred Pruitt, left this world to be with the Lord in 1963, his vision for the work is still revered. By God's blessings, we hope to see it continue until Christ returns.
Recently, we learned of the passing of Bro. Adelfo Gonzalez, a native missionary in Culiacan, Mexico. Bro. Adelfo passed away on February 12, after a short illness.
On February 14, I flew to Culiacan for the funeral. Upon arriving at the airport, Bro. James Huskey picked me up and we went straight to the small concrete block chapel where the funeral was in progress.
Bro. Adelfo, who had humbly labored for the Lord, was loved by many and the chapel was filled with mourners. Others were standing outside the door. Although it was a sad occasion, the strength of the Lord was felt, and it seemed as if nature itself was in harmony with the loss, for the sun set upon the Mexican landscape at the cemetery just as final words were being said.
Bro. Adelfo's passing leaves a void which will be felt by many. Pray for his wife, Sis. Minerva, and their family, several of whom are still at home. Please pray also for the continuation of the Lord's work in Culiacan.
Thanks to all the congregations who have sent in dates for summer Camp Meetings. If your meeting is not included in the list on this page, please feel free to relay that information to us as soon as possible.
*The book, God's Gracious Dealings, is available from this office for the price of $9.70. The cost includes both postage and handling.
