SIN YOU MUST

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are" I Corinthians 3:16-17.

Those who sin lose their salvation.

"He that committeth sin is of the devil" I John3:8. "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin" I John 3:9.When a Christian sins he backslides. Then he must repent, or he remains a sinner until he does repent.

God is a God of reason, and when He says, "Be ye holy for I am holy" (I Pet. 1:15-16) He means this is what we should do. But it is not something we must do in our own strength. He gives us power to be kept sinless until His return, (I Peter 1:5), "all the days of our life" (Luke 1:74-75), and right here "in this present world" (Titus 2:12).

Is it possible to sin in thought, word, and deed every day and not know it?

The dictionary says, "Sin is a willful transgression against divine law." The Bible confirms this in James I:13-15 and I John 3:4.

The definition of the word willful means: "Governed by the will without regard to reason; stubborn; inflexible." Therefore, the logical conclusion to the above evidence is this: Man knows when he sins since it is done willfully and with premeditation.

In Philippians 3:15, God reveals to us that we might be perfect. In Hebrews 6:1 we are exhorted to "Go on unto perfection."

I John 1:7, 9 says, "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

The scriptures above and the first six verses of the second chapter of I John reveal plainly the remedy for the condition mentioned in the 8th verse of I John, which reads: "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Other scriptures often used by those who say we can be saved and yet sin every day are found in Romans 7.

Look at the first verse and see to whom Paul is writing. You will find that it is to those who know the law. *(This needs explained more clearly) The sixth verse tells very plainly that the Christian is delivered from the law. And the first verse of the 8th chapter says there is "no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus." That is the place of the Christian: saved from sin and kept from sin. Romans 6:22 and I Peter 1:5.

"For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace." Romans 6:13-14.

The old Israelites were called a holy people by God Himself. Deuteronomy 7:6 (Read the 7th chapter). Afterward we find plenty of proof that they fell from that high calling and grievously sinned against God and He forsook them just as He said He would.

Deuteronomy 31:16-17 says He would forsake them if they forsook Him, and He did. Jeremiah 15:5-6 tells us that He did. Ezekiel 33:11-13 plainly says that the "righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression." So then when we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, we are on dangerous ground. Hebrews 10:26-31. We die a spiritual death immediately when we sin. We become a sinner, as did Peter when he denied the Lord.

Now, since God has a remedy for sin in Romans 3:25-26 "through faith in his blood," why then need man sin any more? If you are an honest-hearted person and really want to be delivered from the power of sin and kept from it, you can be.
