Where Will You Live In Eternity?

Our earthly life is so brief. It is a short distance from the cradle to the grave, even if we live to a ripe old age. Then we pass forever into a place where time is swallowed up into eternity. No clocks will remind us of minutes, hours, months and years. When millions of years have passed, eternity will have just begun. And it will never end. All the things we now cherish‹home, position, wealth and pleasure will fade away as we are called to the great beyond.

The question then is: Where will I be in eternity? The choice is ours. God¹s Word says, ³Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.² (Matt. 7:13-14).

There are only two ways‹the broad way and the narrow way. The broad way is the way of sin, sorrow and eternal death. All who have come to the age of accountability and have not been born again, are on the broad way. Jesus said to Nicodemus, a moral and religious teacher in Israel, ³...Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.² (John 3:3, 7).

It is a sad fact that even multitudes of religious people‹leaders and church members, are on this broad way. They have never been born again. The broad way leads to eternal destruction, the lake of fire‹the doom of the lost. ³And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.² (Rev. 20:15).

The narrow way is the way of life, peace and eternal happiness. All who travel this way must enter in at the strait gate by the way of repentance, finding forgiveness of their sins through the blood of Jesus. They must have assurance that they have passed from death to life and are traveling the way leading to heaven‹the eternal habitation of the redeemed. ³And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither sorrow nor crying,² but eternal glory and unspeakable joy will be the portion for all its inhabitants.

Dear reader, which way are you traveling? Your destination will be either heaven or hell. You will either be forever with the Lord, or eternally lost.

A millionaire¹s daughter was facing death. Her ungodly parents had no concern about the future. As she was nearing the brink of eternity, she said to her mother, ³Very soon I shall be gone from this world, with all its hollow pleasures into which you led me, and to me it is dark and all unknown.

"Mother, take my jewels and bury them with me; let my name and memory be forgotten, for I know my soul is lost. . . . Yes I am going, going into a never-ending eternity, and you have been the means of my destruction.²

Jesus said, ³...Wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction,...² It is not God¹s will that any should perish, and be lost forever. ³For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.² (John 3:16). Jesus came ³to seek and save that which was lost.² He suffered and died on the cross to make salvation possible for all who will travel on the narrow way.

We cannot enter in by our own good works, or by joining the church and being baptized. We must come to Jesus as a lost, hopeless sinner, confessing and forsaking our sins and receiving Christ as our personal Saviour.

Ask yourself these questions:

Which way am I traveling? Where will I be in eternity? Remember, eternity will never end. You may be nearer your eternal destination than you think. If you are unsaved, won¹t you come to Jesus now?
